First of all, how are you and your family doing in these COVID-19 times?
These are tough and challenging times and require extra effort and patience, hence my family and I are trying our best to stay positive, make the best out of the resources and time we have. Keeping hoping for the best.
Tell us about you, your career, how you founded or joined this company?
In 2008, the beginning of my professional career! I started providing Digital Services. In 2009 after my A-Levels, went to the USA and joined a 5 Star Hotel as a General Manager, pulling it into profits, while I was happy. I felt under-utilized so I came back to Pak, finished my Studies in 2015 as Masters in Media Studies and joined a multinational firm namely (Socio Engineering Technologies) as an associate. Through shear determination and skills I was appointed as Executive Director (APAC-EMEA) within 5 years. Now I provide consultancies in the field of Edu-Tech, Innovation and Media at International level to top leading companies. It has just begun!
How does your company innovate?
Socio Engineering Technologies Pvt Ltd has a multi-dimensional approach towards its areas of services and expertise and contributes significantly in strengthening civil society institutions in Pakistan. Especially in the EduTech Sector through international approved and recognized Skilled Certifications and Innovative Interactive Technology.
Socio Engineering Technologies has its operations based in Pakistan with its head office in Islamabad.
How the coronavirus pandemic affects your business, and how are you coping?
Covid-19 has created a big dent on our financial standings, however at the same time it has forced us to adopt an aggressive digital working environment which has enabled us to look beyond the horizon and exercise strategies that are much needed in the current era. We are training our employees and tweaking our company strategies accordingly.
Did you have to make difficult choices, and what are the lessons learned?
Yes, we had to let go of some resources due to lack of funds but we have learned how to manage that for the future.
What specific tools, software, and management skills are you using to navigate this crisis and stress?
We are using Digital Tools for communications, ERP and Social Media Platforms to remain connected.
Who are your competitors? And how do you plan to stay in the game?
In this world of Covid-19 we believe everyone is trying to survive and be the best, however the services and certifications we offer help boost the capacity of individuals from every field, that is why we will always be needed by one field or another.
Your final thoughts?
We must stand united, follow the SOPs, create a digital work environment that is productive as far as revenue is concerned and also very safe for the mental health of our employees.
